Decline and Fall is a funny novel written by Evelyn Waugh published in 1928. It was first published novel therefore Author’s earlier unpublished novel The Temple at Thatch was destroyed while still in composition shape. This novel is about the schooldays of Waugh at Lancing College, undergrad days at Hertford College and his teaching experience at Arnold House in North Wales. It is a social parody that utilizes the trademark of author black humor in ridiculing different elements of British society in the 1920s.
