The congregation’s planner probably manufactured it to look like the magma streams on the island.Situated in the focal point of Reykjavík, it is one of the city’s best-known milestones and is obvious all through the city. State Architect Guðjón Samúelsson’s plan of the congregation was appointed in 1937. He is said to have composed it to look like the trap rocks, mountains and ice sheets of Iceland’s scene.
